What is the best car to rent for a family trip in Seattle? For five or more people with luggage, a minivan: sliding doors, seven or eight seats and the most cargo room. If you want all-wheel drive for the mountains, choose the Toyota Sienna 2025, our all-wheel-drive minivan, or a three-row SUV. Every car in the table below has three rows of seats.

Minivans: the family-trip champions
Our minivans offer seven or eight seats, depending on the exact vehicle. The Toyota Sienna 2025 is a seven-seat hybrid; other Sienna years have different specifications. Compare photos and seating, then ask us about your strollers and suitcases before booking. The minivan rental guide compares every van in the fleet.
Three-row SUVs: seats plus capability
The Toyota Grand Highlander 2026 (Check current status on Turo.) and Rivian R1S 2025 (Check current status on Turo.) each list seven seats and AWD. The Tesla Model X (Check current status on Turo.) has six seats across three rows. Match the exact car to your passengers and bags.
Roomy crossovers: easy and efficient
For smaller families, a hybrid crossover from our Hybrid SUV lineup is comfortable, frugal and easy to park, a great all-rounder for a long weekend.
A few tips before you book
- Count your seats and luggage first, then match the car. It's better to size up than be cramped.
- Bringing little ones? The optional Child safety seat Extra is $50, with rear- and forward-facing options. Guests install the seat. Check availability and current pricing on the exact Turo listing.
- Family-friendly cars get reserved early on weekends and holidays, so book ahead.
